It took me a while to figure this out, but I think I’ve got it now.
There are two kinds of happiness, and they take two different avenues.
One comes with much fanfare, delighting us by letting something happen that makes us float in bubbles of exhilaration. We want it so badly. We wait for it longingly. It just has to happen to make a moment make sense.
The other comes softly—stoic, serene, a wise interpreter of life. It plants a seed in us, nurtures it, and shows what lies within us...to help us find what it takes to make others happy.
It is a simple epiphany, an indescribable joy, when what lies within us can bring happiness to others. When this happiness unfolds, everything in life makes sense. What lies within us is boundless.”
